In 2012, saxophonist Matt Bauder approached his practice space and heard through the door wild rock n’ roll sax and organ, another band already playing inside. He assumed the space had been accidentally double-booked, but when he walked in, he found the room empty. He thought, "I'm hearing things" and had the idea to start a new band chasing after the crazy sounds he thought he’d heard.

Since then, Hearing Things has toured nationally as main support for Nick Waterhouse and Will Butler (Arcade Fire). Currently, Hearing Things plays once a month at Brooklyn’s Barbés, the band’s favorite music bar.

When not playing in Hearing Things, saxophonist/composer Matt Bauder tours playing sax in bands like Arcade Fire, Father John Misty, Iron and Wine, and Haim.

A blast of fun, the craftsmanship of the players never getting in the way of the grooves and hybrid melodies.
